the following updates were pushed to zen master on june 22, 2020 multiple gpu management you can now manage zixi broadcaster instances with multiple gpus, so that when you are running heavy transcoding activities, you can ensure that the load is distributed among several different gpus for each transcoding activity done on a source or a channel you can now specify which gpu instance it is assigned to, enabling you to balance the load currently, multiple gpus are only supported on broadcaster instances launched by zen master on aws and the aws instance needs to have multiple gpus, such as the g4dn 12xlarge assigning multiple gpus for transcoded sources the create/edit transcoded source screens now include an assign to gpu checkbox you can select this checkbox in order to assign the transcoding to a broadcaster with multiple gpus and specify which gpu instance to use this feature is only relevant for sources for which the ingest cluster includes a broadcaster with multiple gpus (or can spin up a multi gpu instance) 1\ 2 select the assign to gpu checkbox click on the field that opens below the checkbox and select a gpu instance (instances are designated as 0 3 in this example) assigning multiple gpus for transcoded channels the create/edit transcoded channel screens now include an assign to gpu checkbox you can select this checkbox in order to assign the transcoding to a broadcaster with multiple gpus and specify which gpu instance to use this feature is only relevant for channels for which the processing cluster includes a broadcaster with multiple gpus (or can spin up a multi gpu instance) 1\ 2 select the multi gpu checkbox for each transcoding profile that you apply, specify which gpu instance it is assigned to (instances are designated as 0 3 in this example) configuring scte 35 conversion and timecode for hls for hls adaptive and transcoded channels you can now control the system behavior for scte 35 cue point conversion (zm 900) and timecode insertion scte conversion the default behavior is to convert both cue out and cue in cues in the advanced settings, you can now choose to convert only cue out cues or to not convert any scte 35 cues timecode insertion you can also adjust the settings for timecode insertion the default behavior is to insert the timecode based on the system time in the advanced settings you can now choose to insert the timecode using the sei timecode or to not insert the timecode at all minor improvements and bug fixes the following minor improvements were implemented • a help link is now available in the header bar that directs you to the zen master online documentation the following issues were resolved • fixed issue where zen master was unable to launch gcp broadcasters without gpu • fixed issue where editing a target was erroneously warning of a broadcaster restart • fixed sorting by status on some pages • fixed error message text when attempting to delete a broadcaster from a cluster • fixed many ui typos and missing fields and implemented general ui polish • updated pid mapping feature to match broadcaster v14 0 39309
