the following updates were pushed to zen master on june 3, 2020 pid mapping zen master with v14 zixi broadcaster now allows pids in source streams to be mapped to different pid numbers or to have their content nulled out or to have the pid with its content removed the pids to be processed can be selected by the existing pid number, or by the stream category, or by the stream type pid mapping in zen master uses the concept of profiles where you define one or more pid mapping profiles and then those profiles are applied to sources to create a pid mapping profile, select transformations >pid mapping profiles from the left menu add a new profile give the profile a name, select access tags, select the default action (see below) and select whether the source stream will be a spts or mpts in the case of mpts you will also select the program number of the stream inside the mpts that you want to process next, choose the rule type select elementary pid # to select by the pid # use the action pulldown to choose to map it to a new pid number, set the content to null, or remove the content the stream category selection allows you to specify a category of pid that will be mapped to a new pid \# the first pid found in the stream that matches that category will be mapped to the new pid # the stream type selection allows you to specify the type of pid that will be mapped to a new pid # the first pid found in the stream that matches that type will be mapped to the new pid \# use the plus button to define multiple pid mapping rules after saving the pid mapping profile, you have two ways to use it one way is to map the pids on a zixi, udp/rtp, srt or rist source, which will result in all targets connected to the channel using that source receiving the same mapped stream the second way is to create one or more new sources, with different pid mappings, from an existing source with this method, you can set up multiple channels with different pid mappings so that you can send differently mapped streams to different targets to pid map a normal source, select the pid mapping profile when adding or editing the source to create sources with different pid mappings from the same source, create a new “pid mapping” source as many times as necessary fill in required fields for the new source and select the pid mapping profile with either method, channels and targets using these sources will include the specified pid processing minor improvements and bug fixes the following minor improvements were implemented • the new ui introduced in april 2020 is now default the old ui is still available via a button in the banner • added support for srt pull type targets note, srt requires v14 broadcaster • added a confirmation dialog when editing an object would require a restart of the object since restarting that object would result in a temporary stream disruption • improved validation and error handling in name fields • added broadcaster cluster search by dns prefix • aws/gcp/azure account names are now visible in cluster details • added link to transcoding profile in transcoded source details • now shows 0 bitrate on sources at 0 bitrate the following issues were resolved • fixed issue with creating a second transcoded source on a single source • added missing error handling on add broadcasters button
