the following updates will be included in the zen master february 20th, 2024 release features the following new features were implemented in this release customizable multi region io server options o i/o servers can now be placed in additional regions for increased redundancy and monitoring performance o in environments with multi region i/o servers, zix broadcasters will maintain parallel routes o the zen master monitoring system will track connection performance and use the lowest latency route for system health and streaming metrics collection o in the event of connection issues or performance degradation, the monitoring system will use the alternative route o co ordinate with your zixi representative to discuss further options and the process and requirements for adding an additional i/o server in the region of choice transcoded channels now support technical slates o previously available for failover channels o when transcoding to a multi bitrate ladder and not passing through the original source, zen master now allows users to set a technical fallback slate new broadcaster and cluster details pages zen master introduces changes to the cluster and broadcaster details pages to o allow for customization of the layout if desired, that will persist on a per user basis o allows for continually changing vital statistics (i e cpu or ram), and other desired data to be pinned to the top of the screen regardless of which tab the users is on or how far they have scrolled at any time o provides a new multi widget tab that can be further customized to display information from multiple individual tabs in position able, sizeable widgets on a single screen to customize the layout o click the ‘layout help’ icon in the bottom right of the broadcaster or cluster screen for an in application tour of the controls o then hit ‘unlock’ to put the screen in edit mode users can then o drag the individual data panels left and right to order in the top two rows o delete panels from the second row o add new panels from the available list o choose to pin/unpin each row in addition, now that the button to access a broadcaster's ui directly is now moved to the top right action menu in tabbed mode, individual tabs work as previously, selecting the tab to display its data in the main panel the selected tab is highlighted in multiview mode, using the final 2x2 ‘grid’ icon, select or de select the tabs of the widgets to display in the combined view each displayed widget contains a control set in the top right to expand or contract the tab, as well as a handle to manually move the widget or set the width widgets can be added or removed, and placed in the order and positions desired finally, the screen can be locked, or changes reverted, or reset to default new diagram design with better layout and more details controls we have made improvements to the way diagrams are rendered • the release provides an upgraded rendering engine which creates better layouts • previously, broadcasters and workflow components were mixed together • the new diagrams render in a more sensible way, focusing on the workflow steps first, and then tying them to the specific active broadcaster below is an example of the updated layout, showing the rendering in both simple and detailed modes, and adding in the details for the active broadcaster in the cluster distribution channel using the new diagram in standard mode distribution channel using new diagram, with details enabled distribution channel using new diagram, with details and broadcaster info enabled additional improvements and changes the following additional improvements and changes were implemented in this release • more details when selecting an aws instance type o added some additional information to the listed instances regarding cpus and throughput • ignore transcode thresholds is now a permanent property of a source/channel • html overlay support o zen master now provides support for the html overlay platform feature o users can specify an external url in the advanced section of transcode sources and transcoded channels configuration o the external html is pulled directly to the processing broadcaster and rendered over the transcoded video output • scte 35 table improvements o improved breakout of scte event information in the table o new columns o each event in a multi event message is broken into its own line • added zixi session details to source and target pages o additional platform information detailing the session, certificate, encryption, and origin device of a stream is now displayed in the zen master details tab for sources and target endpoints • support name/value tags integrations with aws/azure/gcp o tags named using the ‘=’ sign can be used to group objects in a key/value pair o for broadcasters launched in 3rd party clouds such as aws, tags containing an ‘=’ sign are split and used to create corresponding name / value pair cloud tag • alert profile/rules editing moved to a single form • events log filters are now stored in url parameters allowing sharing and reloading without manually resetting the filters • encryption of aws ebs by default o all new/updated clusters will now have ebs encryption enabled using the default aws kms/ebs key • added option to hide clear text broadcaster credentials • improved email notification "grouping" to reduce number of emails sent when multiple errors occur simultaneously • general ui updates bug fixes the following issues were resolved • fixed ui crash on sources with hundreds of pids • zm will display/process up to 50 pids • adaptive/transcoded bitrate errors are now more accurate • fixed validation issue on cluster edit that allowed creating clusters with no broadcaster password • fixed a bug in software only transcoding and added relevant controls to ui • fixed failover channels in grids linking to invalid pages/urls • fixed udp target flapping state when source is offline/zero bitrate • fixed an interaction issue between failover source and inter cluster sources • fixed an invalid error when enabling failover channels with zixi push targets requiring sources with auto pull enabled • fixed issues running v17 broadcaster in aws/gcp/azure • fixed multiple issues causing false positive unknown status errors • fixed cors error for analytics service on many zm pages • fixed source share links not working when non sso login is disabled • fixed an issue with dynamic targets ability to reconnect to alternative sources • general ui fixes api the following updates were implemented in the zen master api • added ‘broadcaster version’ parameter to cluster creation api allowing creating a cluster with just a version string • fixed inconsistency in transcoding profiles api name • improved api validation error clarity • exposed live events stage controls functionality in public api • added pagination support to broadcaster cluster public api
