the following updates will be included in the zen master release for december 10, 2024 features the following new features were implemented in this release o akamai connected cloud clusters o zen master introduces managed cluster support for akamai connected cloud (previously linode) o add a akamai connected cloud / linode account connection under ▪ configuration > akamai linode o name the connection and apply the akamai connected cloud / linode api key o when creating a new cluster, under “management type”, select the newly created akamai connected cloud / linode connection o then select the appropriate networking and instance settings per your akamai connected cloud / linode environment o dpdk support o aws clusters within zen master now include support for very high performance networking via the zixi platform’s implementation of dpdk (data plane development kit) o when enabled for dpdk, zen master will apply a second nic to the launched instance o select “dpdk support” in the cluster configuration options to enable o provide the pre configured aws subnet and security group for the additional dpdk network interface, ensuring they are available to the instance in the selected region o add any optional elastic ip’s if needed o live events table update o zen masters live events manager introduces additional tools to manage multiple parallel events from within the updated main events table o rather that mixing all past and future events, “completed” , “active”, and “scheduled” events are now separated to different table listings accessible with the named radio button options ▪ the “completed” table lists information for audit and confirming past event runs ▪ the “scheduled” list provides info on future events, ideal for programmers and schedulers needing a look ahead view ▪ the “active” list is for operational users it displays live events that are taking place now and includes additional new columns for the current state, including the primary output, and status and hover over thumbnails for all component sources and slates the table view also includes the option to include events scheduled in the immediate future at 30, 60, or 90 minute look ahead, allowing operators to start multiple upcoming events early when needed o additional functionality in the active list provides ops users with the ability to drop or go to slate directly within the table row o multi selection of event rows brings up action controls to switch to manual, go to next stage, and end events in parallel o as an additional safe guard, upon selecting the action, the operations user is presented with the multi select confirmation dialog o this provides an opportunity to confirm the selection group for the action o it also allows the user to remove an event from the selection list, if necessary o once confirmed, select the final action to affect all events in parallel, or the cancel button additional improvements and changes the following additional improvements and changes were implemented in this release o incidents are now aligned with event profiles o when alerts are silenced for an object, no incidents will be generated on that object o backend performance improvements o health score has been removed from zen master o added tsid (transport stream id) parameter to transcode sources o improved node layout and edge paths in diagrams o zec and targets details pages o added a new user type to allow users to see the live events scheduler without having account management capabilities o account administrator ▪ this is the old “administrator” account type, with all permissions including account management ▪ existing admin users have been migrated these accounts can do everything (old administrator) o administrator ▪ new “administrator” users can do everything except account management, e g create users o alt/dr path polish o alt/primary path status is now displayed in tables o improved error handling in confirmation dialog o confirmation dialog remaining open on logout/session timeout o improved default target broadcaster values when they must be updated on failover o remux/padding support on srt targets o dejitter support on udp/rtp sources o srt push sources and pull targets single port support o display time of day when creating/editing live events stages o fullscreen widgets in new details pages o synchronize playback is now always enabled on hls/local files sources o added external id column to channels and targets o live event switch to manual mode is now logged with timestamp and user info o added source information to scte 35 reports o exposed hls ascending playlist order control in transcoded channel advance parameter section o zen master zixi pull targets will use seamless switching whenever possible o added transcoder muxer resets graph to sources and channels o updated aws account documentation to clarify required permissions o added option to specify manual bonding on zixi push targets o added support for azure sso roles/groups bug fixes the following issues were resolved o issue updating target channel o fixed occasional db load issue causing false positive unknown status errors o zixi pull targets showing incorrect offline error when pulling monitor only sources o offline target no longer shows active thumbnail o empty values in targets table export o false positive "hls validation subtitles missing" error o this error has been reworked to use alerting profile rules instead of a special threshold on the target itself o target create button in channel targets tab now correctly opens creation dialog o failover channels with mpts sources required manual pid map o fix requires broadcaster v18 o transcode channel breaking in some edge cases when updating an upstream source o updating "automatically switch to preferred source" option on failover sources/channels requiring a manual disable/enable to apply o updating "frozen/blank video minimal duration" parameters on sources requiring a manual disable/enable to apply o zen master not updating scte reporting url when it looks valid but isn't o unable to remove pid mapping profile from file source o public grids/grid groups not working for non admin users o http basic auth popup should no longer show up on session timeout, harmless but annoying o event configuration profile on pass though channel updates don't save o pid mapping on srt targets requiring a manual disable/enable to apply o updating "external id" parameter on udp/rtp targets requiring a manual disable/enable to apply o duplicate broadcaster names breaks diagram layout o zen master leaving ghost broadcaster vms in aws when aws policy doesn't allow zm to delete them o invalid parameter error on sso creation o zec output filter/search now works in zixi target form o invalid validation error when creating a mediaconnect flow with a long name o redundant tunnel configuration on broadcaster applied inconsistently when using redundant io servers o scte 35 graph not updating when selecting a new source with the graph visible o create incident buttons visible to regular users o ndi target issues o removing a zec output from a target requiring a manual disable/enable to apply o "prefer primary" zixi pull targets taking minutes to failover to "backup" source in rare cases o e g when both sources
