SSH Connections

SSH (Secure Shell) is a network protocol that allows a secure access over an encrypted connection. Reverse SSH is a technique that can be used to access systems (that are behind a firewall) from the outside world. As part of the SSH configuration, you can configure a connection to the server and then configure any number of SSH tunnels to the same server.

To create an SSH connection:

Click the Add Connections button.

The Add SSH connection dialog appears.

In the Host field, enter the IP address or host name of the host that you wish to access.

In the Port field, enter the port number to access the host.

Click Apply. The connection to the specified server is configured.

To create a reverse tunnel to the same server:

Under the destination that you have configured, click Edit Credentials.

The Connection Credentials dialog appears.

In the User field, enter the user name to access the tunnel.

Click Private Key, navigate to the file location and select the file.

Click Apply.

Click Add to add a reverse tunnel.

The Tunnel details dialog appears.

In the Remote Source Port field, enter the port number of the remote server.

In the Local Destination IP field, enter the IP address of the local server.

In the Local Destination Port field, enter the port number to connect the tunnel.

Click OK.

Repeat steps 5-9 to add additional tunnels.
