This is an alternative method (shortcut) to adding an output to a specific input stream instead of configuring it through the 

 screen. The available types of outputs are:

 – Target is a UDP or RTP stream, over unicast or multicast.

 – Real Time Messaging Protocol streams can be played on systems that accept this protocol as input. Originally designed to enable Adobe® Flash® streams to be sent between a server and a client, RTMP has become a popular protocol for streaming into content-delivery networks (CDNs). 

– Pull streams are Zixi protocol streams destined for Zixi Receivers. In this case, the Zixi Broadcaster can offer status and statistics for a stream that is being pulled from it by another device.

– Push streams are Zixi protocol streams destined for other Zixi Broadcasters.

 - The TCP output can push the stream directly to a TCP socket or to an HTTP server.

– The HTTP Push output stream can be encapsulated in HLS or DASH. The source of the output stream is a predefined adaptive group that has been configured, see the 

 section. The configuration of the stream includes the option to delete outdated stream fragments on the server. Output streams can be pushed to one Zixi Broadcaster or ZEC. 

– The HTTP output stream (HLS or DASH) can be pushed to an AWS S3 Bucket or to an Elemental MediaStore. The native S3 support includes the ability to configure the S3 authentication credentials, including the Region, Access Key, and Secret Key.

 - The SRT stream is pulled from the Zixi Broadcaster by an SRT Client. The connection is initiated by the target SRT client.

 - The SRT stream is pushed to an SRT-compatible target. The connection is initiated by Zixi Broadcaster.

 - The RIST output stream can be pushed to an external target using Simple or Main Profile over unicast or multicast. The output stream can include Forward Error Correction (SMPTE-2022 FEC)

Transcoding an Input Stream

ECN lets a congested router mark a packet to signal congestion rather than dropping it. Sender marks its packets as ECN-capable; a congested router along the path can then flip the bits to signal congestion without packet loss.

Time Addressable Media is a set of principles from BBC Research & Development (BBC R&D) which set out a practical approach for how to handle broadcast content throughout the media lifecycle from live to packaged content.

TAMS

(Differentiated Services Code Point) a 6-bit field within the IP header of a network packet. The 6-bit value (ranging from 0 to 63) classifies the type of traffic and its desired priority level.

DSCP

Refers to a transport stream packet that is 204 bytes in length, which is a variation of the standard 188-byte TS packet.

204B_TS_Packet

(Program Clock Reference) helps synchronize the decoder's clock with the encoder's clock. This synchronization is essential for maintaining audio-video sync and ensuring smooth playback.

Traffic_Shaping

(Datagram Transport Layer Security) a security protocol designed to provide privacy, integrity, and authentication for datagram-based applications. It is essentially the datagram version of TLS (Transport Layer Security).

DTLS

(Network Interface Card) a hardware component—either built into a computer's motherboard or added as an expansion card—that allows a device to connect to a network, such as a local area network (LAN) or the internet.

(Constant Bitrate) a method of encoding audio or video where the bitrate remains the same throughout the entire stream. This means that the amount of data used per second is fixed, regardless of the complexity of the content being streamed.
