Targets

Viewing Existing Targets

The Targets screen displays all existing Targets, and information about the status and configuration of each Target.

It is possible to add more columnsο»Ώ to the list. If you want to view resources that were marked as Priority, add the Priority column and sort by it.

Parameter

Description

Name

The name of the Target.

Status

Shows the status of the Target. Possible statuses are:

  • OK - the Target is running properly.
  • Not Assigned - the Target is not assigned to a Channel.
  • Disabled - the Target has been disabled.
  • Channel Disabled - the Target is assigned to a Channel, but the Channel has been disabled.
  • Error - the Target is in an error state. Hover over to view the error details.
  • Pending - the Target is in a Pending state until it is connected.

The πŸ”’ icon next to a Target indicates that the Target is password-protected.

The πŸ”• icon next to a Target indicates that the Target is muted, disabling notifications for error/recovery events.

Broadcaster

The Broadcaster in the Cluster that is serving the steam.

Type

The Type of Target, possible types are:

  • Push
  • Pull
  • SRT
  • UDP
  • RTP
  • RIST
  • Azure
  • HTTP
  • S3
  • RTMP
  • MediaLive HTTP
  • AWS Media

Target

The ID/Name/Ingest URL of the ingest component that is pulling the stream or to which the stream is pushed.

Client IP

The IP of the destination point, when known.

Bitrate

The stream's current bitrate, when streaming.

Uptime

The amout of time that the stream is streaming.

Channel

The associated channel.

Alt. Path

Specifies if an Alternative Path has been configured or not. The Alternative Path is configured through the Broadcaster Cluster or the Channel configuration screens and attached to a target by following the instructions in Attaching a Target to an Alternative Pathο»Ώ.

When a Target is selected, the list pane is minimized and detailed info about the selected Target is shown on the right side of the screen. The info can be shown in Panels view or Tabs view, see Info Pagesο»Ώ.

When a Target is selected, the following tabs are shown at the right side of the screen:

  • Details – configuration details of the selected Target.
  • Diagram – This tab shows a schematic diagram of the system elements associated with the Target.
  • History – a graphical display of the stream’s performance over time.
  • Events - all the related events that have been generated by the system, such as connections, errors, warnings and disconnections. To learn about the data that is displayed in the Events tab see Events. Click Quick Report to generate a report of events related to this Source and download the .xls file.
  • Change Tracking - displays the history of changes that were made to the object configuration.
  • Configuration (for Pull Targets)– configuration settings for connecting unmanaged resources to be used as Pull Targets.
  • Notes – free-form text can be added with pertinent information about this Target.
  • Incidents – groups together related errors into incidents to simplify the process of identifying the common root cause.
  • Traceroute – shows the traceroutes used by the stream.

The main display includes the following data for each Target:

Description

Bitrate

The current bitrate of the Source.

Broadcaster

The name of the Broadcaster that is used for the Target.

Channel

The name of the Channel that uses this Target as a destination for the stream.

Channel Type

Select the type of Channel to which you would like to add Targets. Options are: Adaptive Channel, Pass-Through Channel or MediaConnect Flow.

Client IP

The client IP of the Target.

Name

The name of the Target as configured in ZEN Master.

Selection Checkbox

Select one or more Targets and perform actions on all selected Targets. Available actions are:

  • Mute All - disables notification for error/recovery events for the selected Targets.
  • Unmute All - enables notification for error/recovery events for the selected Targets.
  • Switch Channel - switch the Channel that is assigned to the selected Targets. If no Channel has been assigned yet, then this button is used to assign a Channel.
  • Go to Alternative (if Alt. Path is enabled) - if the alternative path was configured from the Channel or the Cluster, click this button to attach the target to the alternative path. See ?? for more information.
  • Edit - enables you to edit the Target configuration.
  • Clone - create an additional Target based on the settings of the selected Target.
  • Enable All - re-activates all active streams for the selected Targets.
  • Disable All - stops all active streams to that Target without deleting the configuration of the Target.
  • Delete All - deletes the Target configuration for the selected Target.

Status

The status of the Target. Possible values:

  • Green – OK
  • Red – error state
  • ο»ΏPink (shown together with a checkmark) – acknowledged error stateο»Ώ
  • ο»ΏYellow – Warning (recovered from error event)ο»Ώ
  • Gray – Not Assigned

The muted icon next to a Target indicates that the Target is muted, disabling notifications for error/recovery events.

The disabled icon next to the Target indicates that the Channel is Disabled.

Target

The type of Target. Possible types are: Push, Pull, RTMP, S3, HTTP or UDP/RTP.

The Target type. Possible types are: Push, Pull, RTMP, S3, HTTP or UDP/RTP.

Uptime

For online Sources, shows the number of hours, minutes and seconds that the Source has been online.
