Configuring Events Profiles

eventsprofiles are used to customize the way that events are handled in zen master zen master logs events that occur in your system this includes both warning and error events (e g offline, low bitrate, tr101 error) as well as ok events, when objects return to an ok state all events are shown on the logs > events screen in addition, events can trigger the affected objects changing state in zen master (warning, error, ok) as well as email notifications being sent to relevant stakeholders this feature replaces the "notifications" configuration for errors and warnings that was used previously in zen master events profiles enable you to create a series of customized rules that determine precisely how events are logged and what results they trigger each rule governs a specific type of event (e g offline, low bitrate, tr101 error) for each rule you specify the following details enabled/disabled specify whether or not this rule is enabled for generating events thresholds for rules that are governed by thresholds (e g cpu usage, low bitrate), specify the thresholds for generating warning and error events escalation – specify the number of events that cause escalation from “warning” to “error” events and the window of time that is considered for escalation actions – specify what actions are triggered by this rule specify whether or not these events cause the state of the object to change in zen master, and whether or not email notifications will be sent to relevant stakeholders the events profile does not determine which recipients will receive the notifications when notifications are activated for a rule and that rule generates an event for a particular object, notifications will be sent to all users who have roles associated with that object (via tags) that include receiving notifications zen master comes with a “default” events profile that defines the default rules for events by default, that profile is applied to all objects in the system you can create new custom profiles in which you adjust the settings for each individual rule that you would like to change from the default behavior events profiles are applied on an object by object basis, enabling you to apply different sets of rules to different objects events profiles configuration workflow docid\ l6aalogba04v70dlpk oz use case examples docid 3f hklxvuxi25pxllunnq types of rules docid\ jzqskqi g uxzojafde8f adding a new events profile docid 4rowy avfvci37 sheujy editing events profile rules docid\ wjhcxabqatmvsezbyh8z7 viewing existing events profiles docid\ w bwv1az6r iiqznmckx4
