zixi zen master release notes the following updates will be included in the zen master june 17th, 2024, release features the following new features were implemented in this release o zixi esam (event signaling and management) agent support o zixi introduces the broadcaster esam agent to manage esam scte requests o the agent is a lightweight side car application running alongside the broadcaster o esam policy instructions and scte signals are relayed between an external signal decision system and the zixi broadcaster for processing and signal switching o the agent leverages the broadcasters pts switching to make the switches based on commands from an external esam service ▪ (requires broadcaster version 17 4 or greater) o the agent is fully compliant with esam standard cablelab i03 o in this release, zen master logs switching requests and confirmations o contact your technical representative for more details o mpeg2 transcoding support o added option to transcode to the mpeg2 output format in transcode profiles o added error concealment support on failover channels o options to correct transport stream for downstream irds are now supported in zen master o the advanced mode broadcaster features are available via the input's ‘fix’ menu o the options appear in zen master in the error concealment section of the failover channel configuration o updated event profiles configuration ui o the alert event profile rules table is updated to the standard table architecture, simplifying navigation, and highlighting or ordering by modified, disabled, or rule group o text and layout of the event rule definition tools have also been updated for greater clarity additional improvements and changes the following additional improvements and changes were implemented in this release o support for zecs (zixi edge compute) added to maps o missing option on the mapping page is now corrected o added option to control label location on grids o added an option to provide more control of name location on grids, allowing positioning on either the top or the bottom of the object o added filtering to source scte35 table scte tables now include the ability to filter on message text as well as to limit the search window with a start and/or end time bug fixes the following issues were resolved o editing stages of active live events now correctly updates the pre live schedule o automation not working when selecting objects with tags o fixed bug preventing some mac and windows broadcasters from connecting to zen o transcoding channel with slate not returning to primary source upon recovery o unable to create zec sources/targets in some situations o offline broadcaster reporting ports error instead of offline o unable to reset tr101 failing on some zen master accounts o target thumbnails will not be displayed when the target is offline o resolved an issue with some insights graphs not working o deleting vpcs from aws (amazon web services) will no longer break zm ui that depends on them o incidents list not updating when switching between different networks o targets menu option missing for some non admin users o change tracking not working for adaptive/transcoded channels with many bitrates o incorrect error displayed for offline push sources from managed feeders o azure broadcasters entering a restarting loop when auto install agentz enabled o disabling/deleting an unmanaged zixi push source sometimes leaves it connected o agentz not working or not installing on some platforms o ui polish api the following updates were implemented in the zen master api • resolved issues reverting broadcaster api password changes • api no longer allows creating live events in the past
