the following updates were pushed to zen master on january 13, 2020 improvements dynamic zixi pull targets most useful for occasional use and live events, zen master now provides the ability to create a single “dynamic” pull target in zen master that is automatically connected to multiple receiver devices without needing to define a target for each receiver device individually this feature provides a live video meetme room capability to simplify distributing live content to different organizations on an event by event basis to create a dynamic pull target, simply select “dynamic” on the target on the targets list you will now see that dynamic target you just created next supply the stream parameters to organizations with zixi receivers that will pull the stream once receiver devices connect to the target’s host/port/streamid, they will be listed in the targets list and in the child targets section on the target detail page child targets are named using the parent target name and the id of the zixi receiver for a standalone zixi receiver the id is changed in settings >general for zixi receiver integrations in irds and other devices, the id would be defined in the device ui or may be automatically defined note, all receiver devices pulling from a single dynamic target must have unique id’s if you want to pull a channel into a receiver twice for redundancy, you will set up two dynamic targets connected to the same channel and then pull from each dynamic target child targets are not editable; they assume all of the settings of the parent target and can only be deleted however, you can release a child target from its parent, as shown below, and then it can be edited as it no longer assumes the settings of the parent deleting a parent target will also release all child targets to be regular targets; deleting a parent target does not delete child targets and thus causes no stream disruption if the channel of a parent target is changed, this will only affect newly connected child targets after that change and will not disrupt existing child targets to change the channel on multiple child targets, change the channel of the parent and then select the desired child targets in the target list and delete them they will then reconnect and assume the new channel setting from the parent target boolean search filter fields in zen master now support boolean operators and, or, and not to simplify filtering the visible objects the ( ) \[ ] characters are also supported for grouping the boolean expressions filter fields are available on object lists, such as sources or broadcasters, and on grids as before, filter fields are sticky such that filter expressions previously entered will remain when returning to previously browsed pages automatic clustering of objects on maps objects on maps will now be clustered based on zoom level of the map so that multiple objects in one area will not overlap the icon for the clustered objects shows the number of objects in each state in the order ok, warning, error, and offline for example, “2/5/4” as shown in the image on the left below shows that 2 objects are in ok state based on the green color, 5 objects are in error state based on the red color, and 4 objects are in offline state the image on the right shows the objects with clustering turned off clustering is automatic based on zoom level but the user can also manually uncluster objects using the button shown below show/hide list columns the user can now select which columns to display on lists such as the sources list or channels list this can be useful on devices with smaller screens, such as phones or tablet, or just to remove unnecessary information from the page the column setting is sticky meaning that when you browse away from the page or log out of zen master and then come back to the page, the same columns will be enabled and disabled the settings are stored on a per browser basis such that the browser on your tablet might have certain columns enabled and disabled while the browser on your laptop would have different columns enabled and disabled the column selector is next to the filter box as shown below included below are additional improvements in this zen master release • system wide performance upgrade • auto pull latency on sources is now configurable • added search window and merge mode on hitless failover sources • broadcaster thread priority is now low by default on aws/gcp/azure clusters • global search now includes mediaconnect objects • gcp targets now have cache control headers automatically set to allow playback directly from gcp storage bug fixes • fixed filtering by tags in events log • fixed udp/rtp target cloning giving an invalid parameters error • fixed text in channel diagrams overflowing outside of boxes due to chrome update • fixed issue with targets showing error none in some cases • fixed links to sources in channel diagrams • fixed issue with custom scte reporting configuration being deleted • fixed issue with deep links not surviving sso login • numerous ui fixes
